The Interim External Communications Specialist will step into a highly impactful role within a purpose-driven healthcare organization serving communities across a multi-state region. In this position, you'll go beyond day-to-day content development, serving as a key voice in shaping how important, complex messages are communicated to the public. With a blend of content strategy, writing, and cross-channel campaign support, you'll help create clear, compelling messages that inform, inspire, and connect with diverse audiences across digital and print platforms. Partnering closely with internal teams and external agencies, you'll play a central role in delivering thoughtful, high-quality communications initiatives. Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop, write, edit and refine compelling audience-focused content across campaigns, web, and print.
• Manager and update website content while supporting social campaigns and engagement tracking.
• Partner with external agencies to support multi-channel campaign execution and upcoming launches.
• Create key messages, talking points, and marketing materials that simplify complex and meaningful topics.
• Bring structure and clarity through project coordination and prioritization tools.
• Collaborate cross-functionally while operating independently when needed.

Required Experience

• Content management/content creation (more writing than design)
• Experience writing, reviewing and editing audience-specific marketing materials build deeper understandings for both digital and print campaigns.
• Comfortable with website updates and social campaigns
• Experience monitoring and tracking interaction/engagement
• Exceptional writing, editing and content strategy and development expertise, including experience crafting talking points, key messages, marketing materials and digital content.
• Agency/vendor relationship management
• Facilitate agency coordination and support multi-channel campaigns.
• Project management (Monday.com or similar PM tool experience)
• Ability to take initiative, establish priorities, solve problems, function independently and in collaboration with a team
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience with Monday.com or similar project management program.
• MS Office experience (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
