Location & Compensation Address: 6301 Forest Hills Dr NE, Albuquerque, NM Compensation Pay Range: $26.21/hr – $40.03/hr Type of Opportunity: Part time FTE: 0.80 Work Shift: Weekday Schedule, Monday-Friday (United States) Summary Presbyterian is seeking a motivated and patient-centered Physical Therapist Resident to join our outpatient rehabilitation team. The role is ideal for new graduates or early-career clinicians eager to advance their skills through structured mentorship while delivering exceptional care to a diverse patient population. Responsibilities Requires detailed knowledge of physical therapy, including what and how work is performed and why, as well as interpretation of data. Professional development through the University of New Mexico Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program, including didactic lectures, independent study, psychomotor labs, research activities, and teaching support for entry-level PT students. Participate in planned patient‑care mentorship with a qualified PT mentor for 4 hours per week. Basic understanding of rules and regulations applicable to the setting. Evaluate and treat patients using a variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders. Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan of patients served. Oversee and ensure a comprehensive rehabilitation program that addresses physical, psychosocial, and environmental well‑being. Promote patient and caregiver self‑determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence. Coordinate and communicate with various disciplines or services involved in patient care. Coordinate efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and throughout the episode of care. Serve as a patient advocate. Utilize basic computer skills for documentation and charting. Perform other duties as assigned. Work settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long‑term care, community‑based care, and home health care. Qualifications New Mexico Physical Therapist license required. Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Doctorate of Physical Therapy preferred. Enrollment in the UNM Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program required. BLS certification required. Less than one year of experience in physical therapy.
