Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 1.5 Years of Experience required License: Any active state RN license or compact license accepted Certifications: BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: - Oncology experience preferred - Sickle cell experience preferred - Chemo certified preferred - EPIC experience required - Experience in Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit required Description: Must have oncology experience. Sickle cell experience and chemo certification are preferred but not required. There is no block schedule; will work either 36 or 48 hours per week. Applicants must show experience with a patient ratio of 1:5 in the Work History section for Stepdown or PCU. ICU experience does not count towards the required experience. Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but they may vary up to 1:5-6. Must float to all Stepdown/Advanced Care units. Candidates must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. Applicants must be able to read and interpret strips. N95 masks will be fitted prior to working in specific units. Travelers will be the first to float based on discretion. Assigned to medically appropriate assignments or support nursing care teams. Floating to other units is common based on skill sets and census. Candidates must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Travelers may face shift cancellations due to low census during the contract. The organization reserves the right to cancel agreements with two weeks' notice. Nurses on the unit administer chemotherapy with ONS Certification. Patient ages include adults and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support includes various services such as physical therapy and pharmacy. The unit specializes in both oncology and hematology patients, observing mixed acuity.
