Senior Human Resources Generalist

Location: Glastonbury, CT
Organization Size: Approximately 250 Employees
Salary Range: $95,000k annually
Position Type: Temp to Perm

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that serves as a trusted advisor to both leaders and employees across a growing organization of approximately 250 employees.

The ideal candidate will bring strong employee relations expertise, payroll and benefits experience, and a proactive approach to supporting business objectives while fostering a positive employee experience. This position offers significant visibility and the opportunity to contribute to key HR initiatives that drive organizational success.

Key ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources Business Partnership
  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees, responding to questions related to payroll, benefits, policies, and employment matters.
  • Partner with managers and leaders on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, performance management, and employee development.
  • Provide guidance and support on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Employee Relations
  • Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, performance concerns, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Coach and support managers in addressing employee performance and workplace issues.
  • Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant resolution of employee relations concerns.
Payroll & HR Operations
  • Support and/or oversee biweekly payroll processing, with weekly payroll administration as needed.
  • Troubleshoot payroll-related issues and ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage and support the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee transitions, and offboarding activities.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Benefits & Compensation
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits programs and eligibility.
  • Support annual compensation planning, merit increases, promotions, and related compensation initiatives.
  • Assist with benefits administration and employee communications.
HR Systems & Reporting
  • Maintain and utilize HR systems, including SAP SuccessFactors and UKG Time & Payroll.
  • Generate HR reports, metrics, and workforce insights to support leadership decision-making.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across HR systems.
Compliance & HR Initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and other applicable requirements.
  • Support HR programs and initiatives focused on employee engagement, culture, talent management, and process improvement.
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement efforts within the HR function.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Strong employee relations experience, including investigations and performance management.
  • Experience supporting payroll, benefits administration, and employee inquiries.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • SAP SuccessFactors
    • UKG Time & Payroll
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience working in a mid-sized organization supporting multiple business functions.

Salary: $95,000–$98,000 annually
