Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 17 weeks Shift: Rotating Shifts, including Days, Evenings, Nights, On Call, Call Back, Holidays, and Weekends as needed Hours per Shift: 12.0 Experience: Minimum of Two Years of Med/Surg Experience License: RN License (New York Only) Certifications: - BLS (American Heart Association Only) - ACLS (American Heart Association Only) - NIHSS - Telemetry Must-Have: RN License (New York Only), BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, Telemetry Description: The Observation unit cares for adult patients needing additional observation to determine if the patient's condition requires hospital admission or if the patient can be treated and released home safely. The Observation unit operates in a very fast-paced environment, handling 20 to 27 patients per day with an average length of stay of 27 hours. The unit has 24/7 provider coverage and provides care for a diverse adult population of both emergency observation and admitted boarding patients. Patients may range from those needing short stays to full admissions.
