Job Summary Our client, a leading higher education organization, is seeking a part-time IT Support Specialist to provide frontline technical and classroom technology support for faculty, students, and staff. This is a hands-on IT generalist position ideal for someone with 1–3 years of technical support experience who enjoys working directly with end users and is comfortable troubleshooting basic IT, connectivity, printing, and AV issues. The position will average 15–20 hours per week across approximately 2–3 days, with Saturday availability being the highest priority. After an initial training period, this individual should be comfortable independently supporting Saturday operations while knowing when an issue needs to be escalated to the broader IT team. Schedule Saturday shifts are typically 8:30 AM–4:00 PM (approximately 7 hours) when classes are scheduled. Not every Saturday will require coverage. Weekday shifts are typically 4:00 PM–7:00/7:30 PM, with some flexibility based on weekly needs. Weekday hours may be reduced during weeks that include a Saturday shift to remain within the allotted part-time hours. Responsibilities

• Provide frontline IT support to faculty, students, staff, and guests, including basic troubleshooting, printing, and network connectivity issues.
• Support classroom AV technology, including control-panel input/output selection, basic system resets, and troubleshooting using documented procedures.
• Assist with iPad recording setup and teardown, file transfers, and uploads as needed.
• Document support tickets, user interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Follow established troubleshooting procedures and determine when issues should be escalated to other members of the IT team.
• Provide professional and customer-focused technical support in a higher education environment.
• Assist with an upcoming office move, including packing IT equipment and sorting technology for relocation or e-waste.
• Work independently during designated shifts after completing the initial training period.

Required Qualifications

• 1–3 years of IT support, help desk, desktop support, or IT generalist experience.
• Experience providing basic frontline technical support and troubleshooting.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to professionally support a variety of end users.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow documented troubleshooting procedures and accurately document support interactions.
• Sound judgment regarding when to troubleshoot independently and when to escalate an issue.
• Reliable availability for Saturday coverage and some late-afternoon weekday shifts.
• Dependable, curious, team-oriented, and comfortable working independently after training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in higher education, classroom technology, or another highly customer-facing professional environment.
• Basic AV experience, including familiarity with inputs, outputs, classroom control panels, or presentation technology.
• Experience supporting classroom or event technology.
• Familiarity with iPad recording, file transfers, or uploads.
• Experience with Halo or another IT ticketing system.
• Basic printer and network-connectivity troubleshooting experience.
• Experience assisting with IT equipment moves, inventory, packing, or e-waste.
