This 6-month contract payroll clerk role, with strong potential for permanent conversion, supports a high-volume weekly payroll cycle in a fast-paced, growing organization. The payroll clerk executes established payroll processes, handles timekeeping and garnishments, assists with payroll approvals and commission tracking, and provides day-to-day support to the payroll team. Responsibilities

• Administer timekeeping processes, ensuring employee hours are accurately recorded and submitted for payroll.
• Support weekly payroll processing for a high-volume employee population, following established procedures and deadlines.
• Assist with payroll approvals by preparing, reviewing, and routing payroll data to appropriate stakeholders.
• Process and maintain garnishment records, ensuring accurate deductions and compliance with applicable orders.
• Track commissions and ensure they are calculated and entered correctly into payroll systems.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation to support audits, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Use Excel to organize, validate, and reconcile payroll data, including applying formulas as needed.
• Collaborate with the payroll team and leadership to support expanding payroll operations during a critical team transition.
• Identify and escalate discrepancies or issues in timekeeping, garnishments, or payroll data for timely resolution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll processes by following best practices and providing feedback to the team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Paylocity is preferred; experience with ADP or Paycom is also acceptable.
• Ability to learn new payroll tools and procedures quickly during a team transition.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple payroll tasks simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with payroll leadership and team members.
• Motivation to grow into expanded payroll responsibilities over time.

Work Environment

This role is fully onsite in a new office location in Fort Lauderdale, working Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The environment is fast-paced and team-oriented, supporting a high-volume weekly payroll cycle within a growing organization that generates over $100M in annual revenue. The payroll clerk works closely with payroll leadership and colleagues, gaining exposure to expanding payroll operations and benefiting from a stable six-month engagement with strong potential for permanent placement and ongoing professional growth.

This is a contract to hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
