Bookkeeper

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Wilmington, DE that is seeking a Bookkeeper. In this role, the Bookkeeper handles accounting, payroll, and benefits for a small company.Duties:

• Manage Accounts Receivable activities, including monitoring outstanding balances and applying payments
• Support Accounts Payable by reviewing and processing invoices
• Perform bank and account reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities
• Review invoices and financial transactions for accuracy; research and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with basic General Ledger accounting and maintain accurate financial records
• Partner with the outsourced accounting team to ensure transactions are properly recorded and reconciled

Payroll & HR Support:

• Process payroll through Proliant
• Assist with benefits administration for employees
• Provide general administrative support related to HR and payroll functions

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (strongly preferred) is nice to have
• 3-5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong accounting background (AP/AR, reconciliations, GL exposure)
• Payroll experience
• Experience with benefits administration
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Comfortable working in a blended, cross-functional role
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies
• Collaborative and able to work with both internal teams and external partners
• Experience with Proliant payroll system is nice to have, but not required
• Payroll processing experience
• Benefits administration experience
• Strong Excel skills
• Comfortable working in a small, hands-on environment
• Able to wear multiple hats and interact directly with employees

Experience with:

• Bank reconciliations
• Trial balance review
• P&L review
• Variance analysis
• Month-end close support
• Fixed assets
• General ledger accounting

Nice to have experience:

• Proliant
• Real estate/property management
• Construction accounting
• Yardi
• MRI

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
