General Sales Manager

Role Description The General Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Deacon Jones Honda in Goldsboro, NC. This role oversees the sales department, including setting sales goals, monitoring performance, and coaching sales team members to achieve individual and store objectives. Daily responsibilities include managing the sales process from customer greeting through delivery, ensuring consistent application of sales best practices, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. The General Sales Manager collaborates with leadership to develop and implement sales strategies, pricing initiatives, and promotional campaigns, while managing inventory, desking deals, and working closely with finance and service departments. The role also involves recruiting, training, scheduling, and mentoring staff, as well as analyzing reports and market trends to drive revenue growth and uphold dealership standards. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in automotive sales management, including leading and developing high-performing sales teams. Strong skills in customer relationship management, negotiation, and closing techniques within a retail or dealership environment. Proficiency in sales reporting, forecasting, and using dealership management or CRM software to track performance and opportunities. Ability to create and implement sales strategies, marketing initiatives, and pricing plans that support growth and profitability. Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate diverse teams and foster a respectful workplace. Solid organizational and problem-solving abilities, including managing multiple priorities, inventory, and operational details. Previous on-site leadership experience in an automotive dealership or similar environment; experience in the North Carolina market is a plus.
