Production and Inventory Support Associate

Department: Production

Location: Wanchese Fish Company Processing Plant

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7 AM – 4 PM (1-hour lunch break), potential for Saturday work

Reports To: Production Manager

About the Role

Wanchese Fish Company is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Production and Inventory Support Associate to join our seafood processing team. In this role, you will serve as a critical link between our warehouse inventory and production team. This position will ensure inventory is accurate by issuing product to production lines, ensuring production is reported on correct lines, move inventory to correct locations, and track packaging movement.

Key Responsibilities

• Issue product to production lines and move product into designated bin locations to maintain floor accuracy
• Issue packaging to production lines to track usage.
• Transfer inventory in the company’s system to the appropriate rooms and production lines using a handheld scanner
• Monitor and ensure the accuracy of all product inventory on the production floor
• Communicate proactively with production staff and supervisors regarding inventory status and any concerns

• Qualifications

• Required:
• Comfortable using handheld inventory scanning devices or ability to learn quickly
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Ability to work in a cold and wet environment for the duration of the shift
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented work ethic

 

Preferred (not required):

• Prior experience in a food processing, manufacturing, or quality control environment.

Familiarity with food safety concepts such as HACCP, GMPs, or SQF/BRC standards.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an active seafood processing plant environment, which is cold and wet. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided, including waterproof outerwear, gloves, and non-slip footwear.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking on wet, slippery surfaces throughout the shift.
• Occasional bending, reaching, and carrying of light materials.
• Must be able to stand for the majority of a full 8-hour shift.
• Must be able to work in a cold, humid environment (processing areas are maintained at refrigerated temperatures).
• Must comply with all food safety, GMP, and personal hygiene requirements at all times while on the production floor.
