Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm)The Director of Corporate Strategy will report to the SVP of OptumHealth Strategy with responsibilities to work directly with the Market Presidents and Business CEOs within OptumHealth. This position will also include frequent interactions with the Executive Team. The Sr. Director will help to lead a team of Managers and Analysts that will be responsible for the general management and oversight of strategy, tactical leadership, and operations. This individual will help to establishing overall strategic direction, identifying, and defining the most important strategic initiatives for both the care delivery markets and product businesses. This person will lead a team to develop and execute against those strategic initiatives and support the executive team on specific projects. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Lead Strategy development, business planning, and tie into capital planning across OptumHealth Business Units and MarketsProvide a level of subject matter expertise in an area of focus/priorityViewed as a critical thought partner/leader by SLT/ELT LeadershipIdentify, assess, track, and occasionally support the implementation of strategic initiatives (both in and across care delivery markets and product businesses)Lead care delivery market-level integration activatesIdentify and lead performance improvement initiatives in local markets and product businessesSupport standing up capabilities for FFS to Value conversion in new marketsEnable scalable platforms in local markets to support growthBroad-based growth strategies (in-market strategies, geographic expansion, and business line expansion)Institutionalize and continuously evolve a group discipline for service strategy and operation roadmapUnderstand, assess, prioritize, and validate business demands and requirements through direct interaction with business stakeholders and proactive analysis for opportunities to develop and grow the businessParticipate actively in joint venture business meetings as applicableSupport the business development process for group operationsYou’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree5+ years of industry experience in consulting, investment banking or analogous corporate experience5+ years of experience developing and leading business strategies and planning, including experience with market overviews, understanding competitive positioning, analyzing market trends, capital planning and understanding customer needs5+ years of Healthcare experience, payor, and/or provider spaceExperience communicating data and strategic frameworks with C-Suite executivesSuperior conceptual, analytical, and financial modeling skillsExperience delivering results with large-scale, cross-functional teams in highly matrixed organizationsExperience managing and prioritizing multiple projects to ensure their quality and on-time deliveryComputer literacy and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointWillingness and ability to travel 30% (project dependent)Preferred Qualifications:MBA Prior experience working with risk models and products-specifically within Medicare Advantage Prior experience working with Physician GroupsUnitedHealth Group requires all new hires and employees to report their COVID-19 vaccination status.Careers with Optum.
