Job Description Summary Job Summary / Purpose: The Medical Technologist (Flex) reports to section Managers. Under general supervision, the Medical Technologist performs a variety of complex test procedures and may be assigned to work in Transfusion Services, Fast Flow, Microbiology, ART OR Lab, Specialized Testing Laboratories, Referral Testing or the Ambulatory Care Laboratories Entity Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) Worker Type Employee Worker Sub-Type PRN Cost Center CC000489 CHS - Lab - North Area (Offsite) Pay Rate Type Hourly Pay Grade Health-25 Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Job Description Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states. Follows standardized procedures and helps prepare samples for testing. Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits. Additional Job Description Minimum Training and Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related medical or scientific discipline Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC). If not certified, must be registry eligible and successfully obtain certification within the first year of employment.
