Senior BD Manager (Funds)

We've partnered with a leading US law firm in its search for a Senior Manager, Client Development - Funds to support its highly regarded Funds and Secondaries practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior business development professional to work alongside market-leading partners advising top-tier sponsors, financial institutions, and investment platforms.

In this role, you will play a key strategic part in shaping and delivering client development initiatives across the firm's Secondaries, GP Stakes, and broader Fund Transactions practice. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to drive client engagement, enhance market positioning, and support growth across complex, high-value mandates.


You will act as a trusted advisor to partners and practice leadership-leveraging market intelligence, competitive insight, and client data to inform strategy and identify new opportunities. From leading high-profile pitches and proposals to coordinating cross-practice initiatives and thought leadership, you will be instrumental in elevating the firm's presence in a competitive global funds landscape.


The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with excellent stakeholder management skills, operating with a high degree of independence while contributing to broader firm initiatives. You will also mentor junior team members and collaborate closely with global Client Development & Engagement teams to deliver impactful, integrated campaigns.


Key Responsibilities:

• Lead client development initiatives and strategic priorities across the Funds, Secondaries, and GP Stakes practices
• Advise partners and senior leadership on market trends, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities
• Drive the development of high-quality pitches, proposals, and RFP responses for complex fund transactions
• Partner with attorneys to develop targeted client strategies, relationship plans, and opportunity pipelines
• Deliver strategic market intelligence and analysis across private equity, financial institutions, and related sectors
• Lead legal directory submissions, awards, and profile-raising initiatives to strengthen market positioning
• Coordinate cross-practice collaboration to ensure a cohesive and integrated client offering
• Work closely with communications, events, and BD teams to deliver high-impact campaigns and client engagement initiatives
• Mentor and support junior team members while promoting best practices and high-quality delivery

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in business development or client development within a leading law firm or professional services environment, with strong exposure to private equity, funds, or financial institutions. You will bring a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
