USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation Part-Time Payroll Specialist

The USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation, one of 17 sections of the United States Tennis Association, is seeking an efficient, proactive, and detail-oriented part-time Payroll Specialist . This role will oversee the organization's payroll functions within Paycor and handle the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with government regulations.

The Role

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance while supporting financial reporting and employee compensation tracking. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in payroll systems.

• Oversee payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and deductions.
• Process payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and pay rate adjustments.
• Maintain and audit payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct quarterly payroll audits and implement necessary corrections.
• Ensure compliance with payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices.
• Identify and recommend improvements to payroll systems and procedures.
• Track employee work hours, wages, compensation, and leave balances.
• Process payroll payments via electronic systems or physical checks.
• Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and supervisors.
• Generate payroll reports for upper management and finance teams.
• Train new hires on timekeeping, payroll procedures, and expense submissions.
• Perform other payroll-related duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• Extensive knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
• 3-5 years of payroll-related experience (required).
• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Manager.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software (Paycor preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, human resources, or a related field (preferred, but not required).

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $35.00 to $50.00 per hour , depending on experience and qualifications. This is a part-time, temporary remote position requiring 1015 hours per week. The role reports to the HR Director and collaborates closely with the HR Generalist.
