We are seeking an experienced Staff Pharmacist for an urgent contract opportunity with a veterinary compounding pharmacy in Lexington, KY.

This pharmacy specializes in customized medications for animal patients. The pharmacist will be responsible for prescription verification, final verification of compounded medications, and supporting daily pharmacy operations in a fast-paced non-sterile compounding environment.

Responsibilities
Review and verify veterinary prescriptions
Perform final pharmacist verification of compounded and dispensed medications
Support and oversee non-sterile compounding operations
Verify medication strengths, formulations, calculations, labeling, and documentation
Ensure medications are accurately prepared and dispensed
Work closely with pharmacy technicians and compounding staff
Communicate with veterinary practices regarding prescription questions and clarifications
Maintain required pharmacy records and documentation
Follow applicable state and federal regulations and pharmacy compounding standards
Support quality, accuracy, safety, and efficient pharmacy workflow

Qualifications
Active KY Pharmacist License – REQUIRED
Active CA Pharmacist License – REQUIRED
Pharmacist experience in compounding, specialty, mail-order, or high-volume pharmacy strongly preferred
Non-sterile compounding experience preferred
Veterinary or animal-health pharmacy experience is a plus
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pharmacy environment

URGENT NEED – FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE!

Local pharmacists are preferred, but pharmacists willing to travel to Lexington, KY will also be considered.
