Accountant

Overview

We’re seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant to support monthly close activities and day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities. This is a hands-on role requiring strong fundamentals in GAAP , solid Excel skills, and comfort working with large volumes of financial data and data entry . Experience with merchandise/retail accounting systems is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities across multiple entities
• Prepare journal entries , account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Support preparation of financial statements and internal management reporting
• Assist with budgeting/forecasting through data gathering and analysis
• Perform and support accurate data entry and maintenance of accounting documentation
• Review and interpret bank statements ; assist with related reconciliations and follow-up
• Support audit requests: schedules, documentation, and tie-outs
• Follow internal controls and established accounting procedures
• Partner with internal teams to gather information and resolve accounting questions
• Participate in process improvements and accounting system enhancements
• Provide general support to the Corporate Controller and accounting team as needed

Required Qualifications

• Accounting background with a general understanding of GAAP , including debits/credits
• Strong Excel skills, including functions such as VLOOKUP , Pivot Tables , and IF statements
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Comfortable with data entry and working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with a merchandise/retail system (especially Island Pacific )
• 2–4 years of accounting experience and/or a degree in Accounting/Finance
