Tool and Die Maker 1st shift

We have an opportunity for a Tool and Die Maker to join our New Brighton, MN team. You will provide technical support for the maintenance, repair, and manufacturing of injection mold tools and critical mold components. Collaborate with manufacturing and development teams to support the design, build, and upkeep of jigs and fixtures used in production machining and assembly operations.

You will:

• Manufacture Injection Mold Tooling
• Manufacture all critical components (inserts and core pins) for Mold Tooling
• Provide routine and preventive maintenance of all injection mold tools
• Manufacture jigs and fixtures as needed in all production areas
• Work in cooperation with in-house Research and Development to support critical projects where required, liaise with other Toolmakers
• Be fully involved in daily 5S and Kaizen activities within the plant
• Perform additional responsibilities/duties as required

Key Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum 5+ years' experience working within a Tool Room environment, specifically manufacturing precision Injection Molds
• Have completed an accredited Apprenticeship Training and/or possess a Technical Certificate
• Have a full understanding in the construction of all types of Mold Tools to include; two plate, three plate, hot runners, hydraulic and mechanical unscrewing tools
• Be able to work to tight tolerances - typically ± 0.0002" across all machines
• Exhibit expert bench skills in assembly, fitting and timing of slides and bluing of critical shutoff areas
• Have a full understanding and ability to work from technical drawings and have ability to work without technical drawings as needed
• Demonstrate a full and extensive understanding of the injection molding process
• Have expert manual machining skills in areas of Milling, Turning and Surface Grinding including a comprehensive understanding with the use of all related equipment or attachments
• Have expert CNC Milling and Turning with the ability of both the Setup and Operation, including the associated Tooling with an in-depth understanding of the NC programs
• Have expert CNC EDM in Die Sinker and Wire with programming skill; possessing a comprehensive understanding with the Setup and Operation including the associated Tooling and Electrodes
• Have experience using CAD systems to work with Technical Drawings, working with Solid Models, creating and generating Tool Paths for machining
• Have a willingness and ability to use own initiative to work efficiently without supervision to meet deadlines
• Take a methodical approach and have good organizational skills
• Possess strong communication and decision-making skills

Shift/Hours:

• 1st shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday
• Availability for Overtime

Compensation:

The hourly pay for this role is: $37-$42 with opportunity for a rate increase after you are proficient in certain skills and have fulfilled training. Actual pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, and experience.
