Job Title: Principal, Business Development – Position Navigation and Timing (PNT) Job Code: 40678 Job Location: On‑site in Clifton, NJ or Los Angeles, CA or Palm Bay, FL Work Schedule: 9/80 (Every other Friday off) Relocation: Relocation assistance is available to qualified applicants Job Description The successful candidate will report to the Strategy and Business Development Lead for the Mission Critical RF Business Area within the Surveillance Systems Division. They will collaborate effectively with legislative, government relations, technical, and functional teams to achieve financial objectives by engaging customers, identifying business opportunities, and supporting both corporate and segment strategic growth initiatives. This position will be supporting the PNT Enterprise of the Mission Critical RF Business Area of the Surveillance Systems Division. This role is responsible for leading multiple growth campaigns, specifically to protect and expand upon current and future ground and space‑based franchises. Essential Function Lead initiatives associated with all new business growth areas in the Space PNT Portfolio Serve as a liaison to Division growth initiatives representing PNT interests Help identify new and adjacent markets, unmet needs, and opportunities for expansion of existing architectures Allocate and recommend needed discretionary resources to achieve financial goals Prioritize campaign engagements leveraging Senior Management participation Support the collection of competitive intelligence and information to enhance L3Harris understanding of customers and competitors’ strategies Work jointly with the Corporate Government Relations team on Congressional Strategic inputs Create and foster a business acumen culture which embraces a strategic, proactive approach in supporting business area leaders with identifying, actively pursuing and closing new business Assist capture teams in the preparation of competitive assessments and win strategy development Play an active role in at least one government or industry board with interests relative to PNT solutions Represent L3Harris Corporation at customer meetings, Industry related meetings and conferences Collaborate with the remainder of BD team including marketing communications, business development leaders, and capture teams Support the qualification process of new opportunities and “connect the dots” between other L3Harris segments/sectors/divisions to ensure we provide best value to customers Understand and influence sector/division strategies with customer perspectives Embrace a culture of continual learning to improve our understanding of the technical drivers our existing and potential new customers seek to improve their missions Translate technical understanding of products and technology for purposes of customer communication and engagement Estimate and manage new business funds for pursuing new business opportunities and participate in strategic planning for internal research and development Execute campaign strategies relative to business capture planning Lead / support business acquisition process milestone/gate reviews; to include opportunity identification, qualification, pursuit, pre‑proposal, and proposal processes Act as a change agent for the business, ensuring strategies and campaigns are mission and customer focused Organize participation in forums/conferences to further position L3Harris as a thought leader in the space and intelligence industry related to specific strategic opportunities Ability to Travel – up to 40% Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Special Access Professional experience with Space Business Development or equivalent Space Force experience Current or prior experience supporting a business development, sales, capture, proposal development, or similar role supporting DoD clients Preferred Additional Skills Experience leading new business pursuits Experience engaging with senior executives at government agencies, major prime contractors, and commercial companies Established contacts within the DoD Space community including industry Understanding and familiarity with the DoD Space PNT architecture Ability to lead and develop relationships with geographically dispersed people Demonstrated ability in competitive analysis, customer analysis, win strategy development, proposal and color team leadership and price‑to‑win analysis Demonstrated understanding of classified space mission lifecycles, including requirements development, system design and architecture, launch, and on‑orbit operations Disciplined, self‑starting professional who can bring projects to closure with minimum direction, guidance and oversight Must work independently under limited supervision Must have excellent oral and written communication skills Salary & Benefits In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $146,000.00 - $271,000.00. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $126,500.00- $235,500.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
