Area Manager

This full‑time opportunity is for a District Manager who will manage, develop, and motivate teams, implement sales plans, and maintain key account relationships. Responsibilities People Management Support each District Manager’s team with direction, supervision, training, evaluation, and development. Work with District Managers on personnel issues and territory alignment. Reinforce established work‑with schedules, conduct coaching days in the field, and maintain overall responsibility for division personnel. Sales Plan Implementation and Goal Achievement Assist in developing sales plans, quotas, profit and supplier goals. Regularly review sales versus goal progress and report findings. Collaborate with Sales Manager to achieve a successful business plan. Educate staff to build/improve product knowledge. Work closely with supplier partners to create a positive environment and achieve goals. Account Relationships Survey market conditions to create or improve business. Maintain an active role in building key account business relationships. Develop and manage lists of opportunity accounts. Administrative Functions Assist Sales Manager with accurate forecasting for inventory management. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up with problem accounts. Abide by company and legal policies governing the industry. Attend and contribute to the development and preparation of meetings and presentations. Keep competitive information and activity updates current. Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable working area and vehicle condition. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent training and work experience preferred. Prior management experience in the industry required. Experience working with suppliers and/or in a wholesale/distributor environment strongly desired. Demonstrated coaching and leadership skills with proven positive results required. Understanding of wine and spirits is required. Strong accounting, computer, customer service, and interpersonal skills preferred. Results‑oriented professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills, diplomacy, discretion, and strong customer service orientation. Ability to multi‑task, work independently or within a team, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines. Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other presentation software. Experience with Branches, Easy Bev, and/or Quota Tracker is a plus. Familiarity with assigned territory is a plus. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle. Use of personal vehicle required. Candidate must pass criminal background and MVR checks.
