Cardiovascular SonographerThe Cardiovascular Sonographer is fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Service and Stewardship by delivering appropriate direct and indirect quality patient care and performs scans in compliance with regulatory and department processes. The Cardiovascular Sonographer is responsible for achieving system and department goals, and quality and fiscal targets.Primary responsibilities include ensuring the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient, accurately completing all required documentation, ensuring charges are complete and accurate, reviewing exam orders, performing procedure protocols, properly positioning patients, identifying and administering medications, maintaining productivity, practicing aseptic and sterile technique, ensuring equipment is clean and disinfected, and ensuring exam rooms are clean, neat, stocked and disinfected.Minimum qualifications include a graduate of a Sonography program or Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Noninvasive Cardiovascular Program or Bachelors Degree in Health Services or Associates Degree in Health Sciences. Must obtain one of the following within one (1) year of hire: RVT, RVS, RDCS, RCS, RCCS. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain. No work experience required. Knowledge/skills/abilities include basic computer skills, excellent communication skills, ability to assess and interpret data, ability to clearly communicate with patient/family/physicians, ability to take call acknowledging emergency alerts within five (5) minutes and presenting to hospital within 60 minutes of alert, and flexibility to work weekend shifts.Physical requirements include being physically agile, lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, with or without assistance, moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, lifting, turning, pulling, pushing, or ambulating people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift, working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC Guidelines, communicating with others to exchange information, visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks, workspace may vary from open to confined, and may require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.Schedule: Full-TimePaygrade: 40
