Position: Medical Assistant

Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)

Location: Edmonds, WA

Description:

The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within an oncology clinic environment. The ideal candidate should have outpatient clinic experience and must be proficient in electronic health record systems, specifically Epic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain and record vital signs, medical history, and medication allergies.
• Assist with patient examinations and procedures.
• Administer immunizations and other injections as necessary.
• Conduct patient triage and follow-up communication.
• Perform hearing and vision screenings.
• Prepare charts and scheduling appointments for patients.
• Handle specimen labeling and assist with laboratory tests.
• Provide support for various clinical procedures, including nebulizer treatments and EKG preparations.
• Manage pharmacy calls and patient refill requests.
• Ensure adherence to safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

• Active MA-C Washington License (MA-R is not accepted).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Epic experience required.

• Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficient in performing clinical skills required in an outpatient setting.

Patient Care Details:

• Patient Age Groups: Adults
• Daily Patient Visits: Approximately 150
• Unit Support: Includes social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary.
• Special Procedures: EKGs and immunizations/injections.

Additional Information:

Candidates should be prepared to work three of the five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) as part of their commitment to the position.

References are required prior to the start of the position, covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years.
