Program Coordinator

The Rio Grande Water Conservation District (RGWCD) is seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Program Coordinator to support water resources administration, regulatory compliance, and operational coordination for the District’s Groundwater Management Subdistricts. This position plays a key role in helping ensure accurate data analysis, effective program implementation, and timely coordination with producers, consultants, and partner agencies. Location: 8805 Independence Way, Alamosa, CO Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (40 hours/week) Compensation: Starting at $32.50 per hour, with higher pay considered based on qualifications and experience. Start Date: Negotiable Key Responsibilities Support Subdistrict program operations, project coordination, and administrative workflows. Assist with regulatory compliance, documentation, and preparation of reporting materials. Gather, verify, and analyze water‑use, metering, and hydrologic data. Conduct field visits to collect data, verify metering information, and document site conditions. Assist with budgeting support, fee calculations, and financial documentation. Coordinate communication with producers, ditch companies, consultants, and partner agencies. Help organize meetings, workshops, and outreach activities. Maintain organized records, schedules, and compliance documentation. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Water Resources, Environmental Science, Business, Public Administration, or a related field. Experience working with water‑use or hydrologic data. Experience preparing draft technical or analytical materials. Experience supporting regulatory or compliance activities. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant software tools. Valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Three years of experience in water resources, agriculture, water administration, or technical program support. Experience with Colorado water rights and/or Subdistrict operations. Experience coordinating with landowners, ditch companies, or agricultural producers. GIS experience or coursework. This position includes a mix of office work—data analysis, reporting, and coordination—and periodic fieldwork involving site visits, inspections, and producer coordination.
