Job Title: Sports Bar Supervisor

SUMMARY: Frenchman’s Creek Country Club is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sports Bar Supervisor to support the daily operation of the Sports Bar, a high-volume, open-air, casual dining venue serving approximately 200 guests with 28 dedicated bar seats and a centrally positioned bar that serves as the social centerpiece of the venue.

The Sports Bar is a premier social gathering location for members, providing an energetic and welcoming environment where members gather to socialize, dine, enjoy daily Happy Hour, and watch sporting events. Sundays, particularly during football season, are among the venue's highest-energy and highest-volume periods, with 16 televisions and full NFL Sunday Ticket coverage.

The Sports Bar Supervisor will serve as a hands-on leader on the floor, supporting the Sports Bar Manager in maintaining exceptional service, hospitality, food and beverage quality, cleanliness, and overall member satisfaction. This position is responsible for providing direction to the team during service, ensuring operational standards are consistently followed, and helping create a welcoming and engaging environment for members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the Sports Bar Manager in the daily operation of the Sports Bar and assume responsibility for the operation during assigned shifts.
• Maintain a highly visible and engaged presence on the floor and behind the bar during service.
• Lead, direct, coach, and support team members to ensure exceptional service and hospitality standards.
• Ensure the Sports Bar is properly opened, set up, stocked, maintained, and closed according to Club standards.
• Monitor service throughout the shift and proactively address issues before they impact the member experience.
• Build strong relationships with members by recognizing preferences, anticipating needs, and responding to feedback in a professional manner.
• Resolve member concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the Sports Bar Manager when appropriate.
• Take an active leadership role during peak periods, including Happy Hour, weekends, major sporting events, and NFL Sundays.
• Assist with the coordination and execution of sporting events, promotions, member events, and special programming.
• Conduct and participate in pre-shift meetings, ensuring team members understand daily expectations, menu offerings, specials, events, and operational priorities.
• Reinforce Club service standards, appearance standards, attendance expectations, and operating procedures.
• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to employees and communicate performance concerns to the Sports Bar Manager.
• Assist with training new employees and ensure team members are properly trained on service standards, menu knowledge, beverage offerings, POS procedures, and Club policies.
• Work closely with the Culinary team to ensure proper food quality, presentation, ticket times, and communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
• Monitor food and beverage service to ensure quality, accuracy, consistency, and proper presentation.
• Assist with bar operations, including beverage quality, stocking, cleanliness, product handling, waste control, and proper service procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering or stocking needs to the Sports Bar Manager.
• Ensure proper, POS procedures, comps, voids, discounts, and closing procedures are followed.
• Assist in maintaining accurate menu information, pricing, specials, and product availability within the POS system.
• Ensure the Sports Bar's physical presentation consistently meets Club standards, including cleanliness, furniture, bar presentation, televisions, music, lighting, and overall atmosphere.
• Monitor table turns, service flow, ticket times, and overall member experience during busy periods.
• Assist with maintaining appropriate levels of glassware, china, silverware, paper products, and other operational supplies.
• Communicate business levels, staffing concerns, member feedback, operational issues, and service opportunities to the Sports Bar Manager.
• Work collaboratively with Culinary, Stewarding, Housekeeping, Engineering, Events, Accounting, Membership, and other Club departments to ensure seamless operation and member service.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Jonas Management System and Club POS procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Club policies, health and sanitation standards, responsible alcohol service requirements, and all applicable safety procedures.
• Lead by example and promote a positive culture of hospitality, teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
• Support other Club dining venues during the off-season or as operational needs require.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or lead experience in a high-volume restaurant, private club, hotel, or similar hospitality environment preferred.
• Previous experience in a restaurant, bar, country club, hotel, or hospitality environment required.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service and restaurant operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate employees in a high-volume environment.
• Strong member/guest service skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships and resolve concerns professionally.
• Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective during high-volume service periods.
• Passion for and knowledge of sports strongly preferred.
• Experience with sporting events, Happy Hours, or similar social dining environments preferred.
• Proficiency with POS systems; experience with Jonas preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with Culinary and other Club departments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
• Ability to coach employees and reinforce service standards.

• Must be willing to support other dining venues within the Clubhouse as assigned during the off-season.
