Calibration Technician

Job TitleAssembles mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations.Uses various hand and power tools and operates equipment which may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses in order to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble. Fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements. Monitors quality of products and raw materials. May read simple blueprints. Performs simple routine maintenance and cleaning. Determines and corrects minor machine malfunctions. Typically has 3-5 years of experience and works under broad supervision. Typical job titles include: Press Operator, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer.ResponsibilitiesPrepare samples for calibrationCalibrate wire, thermocouplesInterpret calibration data and prepare accurate calibration certificatesPerform calibration of wire and thermocouples across applicable temperature ranges to meet industry standardsPrepare ISO/IEC 17025-compliant calibration certificatesSet up and troubleshoot test equipment and componentsOperate laboratory equipment safely and properlyPrioritize workload based on due dates and customer requirementsAnalyze data and make informed decisions based on resultsMay lead or direct the work of others as neededApply knowledge of thermodynamics testing practices and proceduresAssist in other areas as requiredNote: This description does not represent an exhaustive list of duties.
