Glenburnie, a leading Health & Rehabilitation Center dedicated to providing exceptional care and quality of life for our residents, is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Director of Recreation to lead our therapeutic recreation and activity programs.

Position Summary

The Director of Recreation is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive recreation and activities program designed to meet the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive needs of our residents. This role plays a vital part in enhancing resident engagement, satisfaction, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a diverse recreation and activities program that meets resident interests and regulatory requirements.

• Assess resident needs and preferences to create meaningful and individualized programming.

• Coordinate daily, weekly, monthly, and special event activities.

• Supervise recreation staff and volunteers.

• Maintain activity calendars, records, and documentation as required.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident care plans.

• Manage department budget and activity supplies.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations related to resident activities.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Activity Director, or equivalent preferred.

• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or healthcare settings preferred.

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to inspire resident participation and foster a positive environment.

• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing activity programs in healthcare settings.
