Veterinary Student Externship Opportunity (DVM and VMD Students)

Are you a veterinary student seeking meaningful clinical experience in a collaborative, advanced-care environment? The Metropolitan Veterinary Associates (MVA) Family of Hospitals is excited to offer externship opportunities for motivated DVM students who are passionate about veterinary medicine and eager to learn from experienced professionals.

Our externship program is designed to provide veterinary students with real-world exposure to a wide range of clinical cases while working alongside dedicated veterinarians, specialists, technicians, and support teams.

Externs may gain experience in:

• Small animal general practice
• Emergency and critical care
• Specialty medicine and surgery
• Diagnostic imaging and advanced diagnostics
• Patient assessment and treatment planning
• Client communication and collaborative care

Students will have opportunities to observe procedures, participate in case discussions and rounds, and develop practical clinical skills in a supportive learning environment.

We welcome applications from:

• Current DVM students enrolled in an accredited veterinary school
• Students interested in emergency, specialty, or general practice medicine
• Team-oriented learners with strong communication skills and a passion for patient care
