Join us.Job SummaryThe Senior Systems Engineer serves as the integrating function across the multi-disciplinary teams developing the Next Gen Autonomous Driving Kit, ensuring software, hardware, and product targets remain aligned throughout the development lifecycle. This role is responsible for producing polished requirements and specifications and for optimizing and negotiating trade-offs across the entire development process, Including with OEM partners. Complementing the unit-level testing already performed within the team, the Senior Systems Engineer owns systems integration and validation activities necessary to ensure program objectives are met as designed. This role also works to streamline the interfaces between system architects, controls, and OEM platform partners.Essential ResponsibilitiesLeverage a system level understanding of our products and technologies to support cross-functional engineering effortsAct as the binding agent across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring software, hardware, and product requirements and targets remain aligned across the ADK 6.0 programOwn systems integration and validation activities to ensure the platform performs as designed, complementing unit-level testing performed within the teamDefine and develop metrics to verify that the system and its subsystems satisfy feature and system requirementsCreate and maintain requirement specifications by:Analyzing stakeholder, product, and safety requirements to define technical system and subsystem requirementsSupporting system design activities, assessing impact and conformance to requirementsCollaborating with test and validation team to define verification criteria for system requirementsReviewing legacy requirements to ensure completeness and correctnessDevelop and maintain requirements and specifications to a level of polish suitable for OEM partner collaborationIdentify, negotiate, and resolve cross-functional trade-offs and conflicts across the entire development process, gaining buy-in from impacted teamsStreamline interfaces between system architects, controls, and OEM platform partnersEvaluate industry and regulatory requirements for applicability to May Mobility productsPerforming FMEA analysis, tracking findings to resolutionIdentify gaps in processes and propose solutions for resolutionFollow safe work procedures; Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Use of workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Report workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible.Skills and AbilitiesSuccess in this role typically requires the following competencies:Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skillsStrong attention to detail and highly-organizedAbility to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced work environmentUnderstanding of agile startup and engineering principles and mindsetAbility to display systems thinking and attention to detailDetailed knowledge of requirements management and requirement-based designDemonstrated ability to lead system integration and validation across hardware and software domainsAbility to influence, negotiate, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams and external partnersWorking knowledge of vehicle electrical/electronic (E/E) architecture and in-vehicle networkingCuriosity to learn and desire to improvePassionate about self-driving cars and their impact on the worldStrong working knowledge of ADAS/Autonomous Vehicle systemsQualifications and ExperienceCandidates most successful in this role typically hold the following qualifications or comparable knowledge or experience:RequiredBachelor’s Degree from an accredited university5+ years experience in automotive engineering working on software, hardware, or combined hardware/software productsDesirableA Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experienceExperience integrating and validating combined hardware/software systems at the vehicle or platform levelExperience supporting OEM platform programs or working directly with OEM partnersKnowledge of automotive and autonomous vehicle technologies, such as LIDAR, radar, ethernet, and CANExperience with requirements management tooling and requirement-based designExperience in Autonomous Vehicles, Machine Learning, Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), or Mobile ApplicationsExperience working in a startupPhysical RequirementsStandard office working conditions which includes but is not limited to:Prolonged sittingProlonged standingProlonged computer useTravel required? - Moderate: 5%-15%Benefits and PerksComprehensive healthcare suite including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability plans.
