Job Title: Business Analyst (Education Domain Exp preferred)

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong experience eliciting requirements from customer interviews and creating well-written system requirements.
• Strong understanding and experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs).
• Experience with business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement.
• Experience developing user stories and use cases in accordance with business analysis best practices.
• Experience designing mockups and/or wireframes following UX best practices.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Strong writing and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), a federal/state/local education agency, or an education vendor.
• Experience using Atlassian Jira for issue tracking
• Experience using requirements management software such as Modern Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs, business processes, pain points, and computer system capabilities to automate or improve existing systems.
• Elicit requirements using Joint Application Development (JAD), interviews, document analysis, surveys, use cases, competitive product analysis, and workflow analysis.
• Transform information from elicitation sessions into business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, software requirements specification documents, wireframes, and mockups.
• Develop requirements using standard templates and simple, unambiguous, and concise natural language.
• Serve as a mentor to peers and colleagues by disseminating business analysis best practices.
• Proactively seek out training and professional development opportunities.
• Use TEA tools such as Jira and Modern Requirements to manage the change control process.
• Participate throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Track and communicate requirements status.
• Manage requirements specifications after the establishment of the requirements baseline.
• Verify the fulfillment of business and functional requirements.
• Support requirements for system enhancements following implementation.
• Perform business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement.
• Develop user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices.
• Design mockups and wireframes that conform to UX best practices.
• Facilitate discussions and communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders, and software development teams.
