Medical Director of Ophthalmology - Physician

We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Ophthalmologist to serve as Medical Director of Ophthalmology for a thriving, hospital-employed practice in beautiful Rutland, Vermont. This leadership opportunity combines a robust clinical practice with the ability to guide and grow ophthalmology services within a respected regional healthcare organization.
Position Highlights:
Full-time, hospital-employed position
Leadership opportunity as Medical Director of Ophthalmology
Established and high-volume practice with strong regional referral base
Collaborative team including ophthalmologists, optometrists, and Certified Ophthalmic Assistants
State-of-the-art procedure center with dedicated operating room block time
Updated surgical and diagnostic equipment

Call schedule of 1:4 with minimal call burden
Requirements:
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency program
Fellowship training welcomed but not required
Eligible for or able to obtain a Vermont medical license
Eligible for hospital medical staff privileges
Demonstrated leadership abilities and commitment to high-quality patient care
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
