Education Programs Consultant

Job Description and Duties

The California Department of Education (CDE), Charter Schools Division (Division) is seeking a motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented individual to join the Program and Policy Office!

Under the general supervision of the Education Administrator I of the Program and Policy Office, and working cooperatively throughout the CDE, the Education Programs Consultant duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Directly monitor ongoing operations of SBE-authorized charter schools, including analyzing academic, financial and compliance documents; conducting annual on-site visits; and providing technical assistance

- Communicate and collaborate with a variety of educational partners, including charter schools, school districts, county offices of education, and other state agencies

- Analyze and prepare documents related to charter school appeals, revocations, closures, funding determinations, and other items for the Advisory Commission on Charter Schools and the SBE

- Conduct policy analyses and prepare amendments to legislation

Working Conditions

TELEWORK OPTION

HYBRID

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. Currently, the hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and working a minimum of two days per week in the office.
