Position IEA Reliability Superintendent – Grade 37 Compensation: $161,092–$201,365 (commensurate with experience) Location Battleground Manufacturing Complex, La Porte, TX Closing Date 07/23/2026 Organizational Context and Job Purpose INEOS is a global manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals and oil products. It operates 28 businesses with a major chemical company heritage. The production network spans 148 sites in 26 countries. In the U.S., the INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA business supplies 9.6 billion pounds of petrochemicals annually, operating sites such as Chocolate Bayou Works, Battleground Manufacturing Complex (BMC) and Carson. The BMC is a 300‑acre facility with seven polyethylene lines, one polypropylene line, a 20‑MW Cogen, and an advanced polyolefin Technical Center. Purpose of the Job The IEA Reliability Superintendent leads the site’s IEA Reliability organization and is accountable for the development and execution of reliability strategies, programs, and improvement initiatives that ensure safe, reliable, and effective operation of Instrument, Electrical, Analyzer, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and Electrical Distribution System (EDS) assets. The role provides governance of engineering design standards, mechanical integrity programs, and maintenance procedures, and supports the site capital portfolio through maintenance‑led projects and learning from incidents. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Accountable for understanding and putting into practice the INEOS 20 Principles. Develop and execute the overall IEA reliability strategy for BMC, using RCFAs, FMEAs, and reliability improvement programs to enhance asset performance. Establish, monitor, and communicate reliability performance metrics and KPIs, driving initiatives that improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance maintenance effectiveness. Provide overall stewardship of the site EDS reliability program, including asset strategies, inspection and testing requirements, system studies, reliability improvements, and long‑range infrastructure planning. Own and maintain the site electrical system model and ensure completion of required studies such as arc‑flash, protective device coordination, short‑circuit, and load‑flow analyses. Manage the site SIS reliability program, including lifecycle management, performance monitoring, proof‑test strategy, bypass management, and regulatory compliance. Develop, approve, implement, and periodically review Instrument, Electrical, Analyzer, and SIS design standards, technical standards, specifications, and site procedures. Provide technical leadership to address equipment performance issues, complex troubleshooting, and reliability‑related operational challenges. Lead and/or serve on RCFA investigation teams, ensuring training and deployment of engineering resources for RCFA support. Provide reliability support for turnaround planning, major maintenance, and capital project development, design reviews, commissioning, and startup activities. Collaborate with the Technology Manager and Capital Engineering to align the site capital portfolio with reliability and business objectives; oversee maintenance‑led project execution and technical leadership during project development and commissioning. Oversee MOC activities affecting Instrument, Electrical, Analyzer, SIS, and EDS assets; serve as Change Manager for Electrical Reliability MOCs. Develop succession plans, performance management, and capability growth of the IEA Reliability organization. Align operations, maintenance, engineering, and inspection organizations to achieve reliability, safety, and business goals. Ensure the site Reliability Improvement Teams operate with Operations to identify major downtime detractors and complete measurable improvement action plans. Work a flexible schedule (9/80 red or blue) in alignment with other leaders. Skills & Competencies and Experience Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. 10–15 years of experience in electrical engineering with progressive technical responsibility. Demonstrated leadership and development of reliability programs and best practices. Formal supervisory experience is preferred.
