About this Position:

Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida is a state-of-the-art, family-centered pediatric hospital dedicated to providing exceptional care to our youngest patients. Our Level III NICU offers advanced neonatal care, specializing in treating premature and medically complex infants. As a NICU Occupational Therapist, you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on neurodevelopmental support, feeding therapy, and sensory integration to help our tiniest patients thrive.

In this role you will be responsible for examining, evaluating and testing individuals with mechanical, physiological and developmental impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities or other health and movement-related conditions in order to determine a diagnosis, prognosis and plan of treatment intervention, and assess the ongoing effects of intervention. The OT is also responsible for alleviating impairments, functional limitations and disabilities by designing, implementing and modifying treatment interventions. Additional responsibilities include reducing the risk of injury, impairment, functional limitation and disability, including the promotion and maintenance of fitness, health and wellness in populations of all ages. The OT will be engaged in administration, consultation, education and research. The OT will be expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner. Our Rehabilitation Services team is one of the largest and most dynamic in the region. With over 700 skilled professionals dedicated to helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence through comprehensive, compassionate care. Our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists work closely with medical teams to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patients unique needs. Beyond core therapy services, we offer a variety ofspecialty programsincluding neurological rehabilitation, vestibular and balance therapy, lymphedema management, pelvic health therapy, and oncology rehabilitation. With services spanningacute care, skilled nursing, home health, and outpatient settings, our team delivers exceptional, evidence-based care that restores function and enhances quality of life.

What this Position Requires:

Education: Baccalaureate Degree in Occupational Therapy.

Experience: NICU Experience required + Pediatric Acute Care Experience required

Certification: BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support).

License: Active Florida State Occupational Therapist Licensure.

• What makes this role different? Youll have the opportunity to provide specialized occupational therapy to premature and medically complex infants in a Level III NICU. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, youll support neurodevelopment, feeding, sensory integration, and early functional development during a critical stage of a childs care.
• How many patients will I see each day? Patient caseloads vary based on NICU census, patient acuity, and individual treatment needs. Our focus is on providing thoughtful, individualized care that allows clinicians to respond to each infants unique developmental and medical needs.

Youll work primarily with premature and medically complex infants in the NICU, providing care focused on neurodevelopment, feeding, sensory processing, positioning, and functional development.
