Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and high-performing Door-to-Door Home Security Sales Representative with direct experience in home security and smart home technology sales.

In this field sales role, you will canvas residential neighborhoods, educate homeowners on state-of-the-art security systems, perform on-site risk assessments, and close new customer accounts on the spot. If you thrive in a face-to-face environment and have a proven track record of converting cold leads into loyal customers, we want to talk to you.

Key Responsibilities

• Field Canvassing: Prospect assigned residential territories daily through door-to-door canvassing to build a robust sales pipeline.
• Consultative Selling: Conduct home security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending customized smart security and automation packages.
• Product Demonstrations: Present and demonstrate Shumate Technologies Group’s products, mobile apps, and monitoring packages in a clear, persuasive manner.
• End-to-End Deal Closing: Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact and system design to contract signing and scheduling technical installation.
• Pipeline & Lead Management: Track visits, follow-ups, and sales progress using our mobile CRM software.
• Customer Referral Generation: Build rapport with newly signed clients to generate warm referrals within the neighborhood.
• Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date on competitive security providers, local industry trends, and product updates.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven Track Record: Minimum 1 year of direct door-to-door (D2D) sales experience, specifically within the home security, smart home, or residential services industries.
• Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of residential security technology (sensors, cameras, smart locks, control panels, central station monitoring).
• Strong Closing Ability: Proven capability to overcome objections, handle rejections, and close sales on the first contact ("one-touch closing").
• Self-Driven & Resilient: High level of self-motivation, discipline, and stamina to spend extended hours in the field.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and negotiation skills with a customer-first mindset.
• Licensing & Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check and obtain state/local security seller licenses or permits where required.
• Reliable Transportation: Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for travel throughout assigned territories.
