Role Description The Quality Assurance Inspector is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA. This position is responsible for inspecting floor covering installations, preservation/paint work, and abatement/mold remediation projects to ensure they meet company standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Daily tasks include performing site inspections, documenting findings, verifying materials and methods, and working closely with project managers and field crews to address deficiencies and improve processes. The inspector will prepare detailed reports, maintain accurate records, and support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and efficiency. The role may involve working in maritime and commercial environments, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols and occasional coordination with customer representatives and regulatory inspectors. Qualifications Experience with quality control or inspection in construction, flooring, coatings, or related industries; familiarity with maritime or commercial environments is highly beneficial. Knowledge of floor covering installation methods, preservation/paint processes, and abatement/mold remediation practices, including relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations. Strong attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, work orders, and inspection criteria. Competence in documenting inspections, preparing clear reports, using digital tools (e.g., tablets, spreadsheets, inspection software), and maintaining organized records. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project managers, field crews, customers, and external inspectors. Ability to work on-site in varying conditions, including ships and industrial facilities, and to follow strict safety and PPE requirements. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications in inspection, safety, or construction quality are preferred.
