Leave the world a better place than we found it./ppAs an estimator youre responsible for all estimating responsibilities on one or more construction projects for the duration of projects assigned; work with the project manager and project executive to achieve successful completion of projects; interface with current and prospective clients regarding cost and/or design issues./pulliAct as the design phase coordinator during the schematic, design development, and construction documents phases of a project, including responsibility for completing all estimating tasks on schedule and in accordance with ICs standards for quality and detail./liliProvide thorough, accurate and competitive bids for projects and estimates for project budget, including technical takeoffs, analysis of contract documents, cost analysis and communications with subcontractors./liliDevelop selection of most economical systems to be utilized in preparation of bids, in conjunction with operations personnel./liliEnsure that all estimates, schedules, constructability reviews, value engineering efforts, cost report planning and purchase planning efforts and documents are prepared as scheduled./liliReview and develop a thorough understanding of all front-end contract documents and subcontractor contracts for rights and responsibilities under each and coordination of same./liliAdministrate and monitor compliance with construction contracts with Owners, subcontractors and vendors during the schematic, design development and construction documents phases./liliEstablish and/or identify for team use the criteria applicable to the project, e.g., wage rates, time frames, etc./liliFollow-up on and evaluation of status of the project./liliPerform constructability reviews./liliPlan construction sequence and site utilization in conjunction with project manager and team./liliEstimate general conditions and arrange for general conditions to be completed./liliWork with Marketing/Business Development on assigned projects to distribute information to bidders and review of bid responses to determine cost and scope./liliParticipate in award of all subcontracts on assigned projects./li/ulh3Do You Have What It Takes?/h3ulliBachelors degree in construction management or business; 3+ years experience in the field of estimating in the construction industry./liliAbility to deal with situations involving sensitive and confidential company issues./liliStrong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels, both internally and externally./liliKnowledge of budgeting and expense control./liliWell-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities./liliAble to write reports, business correspondence./liliAble to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines./liliAble to perform duties independently./liliComputer skills: Microsoft Office applications or similar programs./liliStrong attention to detail./li/ulh3Why IC?/h3ulliWeekly competitive pay!/liliExcellent benefits: medical, dental, vision, FSA HSA, life insurance + optional family life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, wellness incentive program/liliPaid holidays and PTO/lili401(k) + company match/liliPaid corporate training program/liliTuition reimbursement/liliStability and a variety of different roles that provide a path to career advancement/liliFamily-owned and operated since 1956/li/ulpThis job description is not intended to be a complete list of all responsibilities, duties or skills required for the job and is subject to review and change at any time, with or without notice, in accordance with the needs of Independence Construction.
