Registered Nurse – Med Surg Tele (MS/Tele) in Rochester, New York. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 35-bed MS/Tele unit, including assessment, planning, and coordination of care with the interdisciplinary team.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage cardiac-related therapies and drips as prescribed (no titration required); follow insulin and heparin protocols as ordered.
- Administer meds and blood products; perform peripheral IV placement and phlebotomy; manage IV lines and tubing care.
- Provide specialized care such as wound care/Wound VAC, PCA administration, feeding tube care, tracheostomy care/management, and respiratory support (HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP); assist with chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac) as assigned.
- Collaborate with IV team, PT, respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transport, and unit secretary; document in Epic and participate in shift handoffs.
- Complete a 5-hour orientation prior to start; float within scope to similar MS units as needed; participate in required weekend coverage where scheduled.

Requirements
- Valid, active New York RN license (in hand to submit)
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year RN experience
- Epic charting experience required
- Mandatory competencies: phlebotomy and IV insertion
- Able to work in a hospital MS/Tele setting and to float within the unit as needed
