Job Description
Registered Nurse - Med/Surg-Telemetry

Schedule

Shift: Nights, 4x12 (1900-0700). Requires every other weekend.

Assignment Details

Patient ratio: 1:5 to 1:7. High-volume unit with a total of 26 beds.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year RN Med/Surg/Telemetry experience.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• New travelers accepted; local candidates not accepted (must reside >75 miles from facility).
• Required certifications: BLS; valid NIHSS score required at submission; ACLS preferred.
• Key clinical skills: dysrhythmia interpretation/management, post-device/pacemaker care, cardiac monitoring, wound care/Wound VAC, peripheral line care, oxygen/non-invasive airway management, blood product administration, participation in rapid response/code teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a med/surg-telemetry unit.
• Monitor and manage patients' vital signs and medical equipment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care.
• Participate in rapid response and code team interventions.

Compliance / Notes

NY RN license in hand required. Candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off cannot be submitted. Background checks are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The COVID-19 vaccine is not required; the flu vaccine status is unknown.
