Process Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking to hire a Process Engineer (Logistics) to sit in Maryland, supporting a large international electronics company responsible for driving process improvement initiatives across warehousing, inventory management, shipping, receiving, and transportation operations. This individual will document current and future-state logistics processes while creating and maintaining standard operating procedures, work instructions, process maps, and other controlled documentation. The Process Engineer will evaluate existing workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for standardization using Lean methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, visual management, KPI tracking, and root-cause analysis. Working closely with logistics personnel and cross-functional stakeholders, they will gather operational requirements, validate procedures, and ensure documentation accurately reflects day-to-day operations. The role will also focus on recommending and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, quality, and consistency while developing performance metrics related to inventory accuracy, cycle times, productivity, and order fulfillment. Additionally, the Process Engineer will support corrective actions, maintain document control standards, train employees on new or updated procedures, and collaborate with Supply Chain, Quality, IT, Engineering, and Production teams to sustain continuous improvement efforts.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.

• Experience in process engineering, Lean improvement, logistics, warehouse operations, supply chain, or a related area.

• Demonstrated experience documenting business or operational processes and writing effective SOPs and work instructions.

• Experience applying Lean principles, including standard work, 5S, Kaizen, process mapping, and root-cause analysis.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel; experience with Visio or similar process-mapping tools is preferred.

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or comparable certification.

• Experience with SAP, ERP, WMS, or other logistics systems.
