Payroll Specialist/Administrator - Public Works

ACCI, a General Contracting company, is seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated candidate who has experience in processing payroll for Public Works Projects to join our team. We are looking for a Payroll Specialist/Administrator to support the timely processing of the company payroll and to ensure compliance with all governmental regulations. Responsibilities:
- Handle Certified payroll as required for state and federal and private projects (at least 65% of the projects are public works)
- We are a Union Contractor. You will be required to manage payroll fringes and payments to the Union trust.
- Will be in direct contact with the customer labor compliance department.
- Process weekly payroll (70-85 employees)
- Maintain accurate records of employee hours using time tracking software
- Process Payroll taxes, Workers' Compensation filings
- DIR notifications as required for certain projects
- LCP Tracker knowledge is required.
- Employee Set-Up and File management.
- Filing for all above
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but is NOT required.
- Update personnel records
- Weekly reporting to regulatory agencies via websites; DIR, LCP Tracker, etc
- Ability to stay focused and work without close supervision.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience handling construction Public Works Certified payroll.
- Working knowledge of setting up projects in the system including client-specific requirements such as the Union and other government agencies.
- Foundation software is preferred, but we will train the right candidate.
- Knowledge of California Public Works Apprenticeship Requirements and the Department of Industrial Relations prevailing wage standards.
- Full knowledge of labor compliance forms such as DAS140, DAS142, Fringe Benefit Statements, Labor Law Checklists, CAC2, and Union Status Letters.
- Must be highly organized.
Experience:
- Construction Certified Payroll: 4+ years
- Foundation Software or similar software: 3+ years
- Construction Industry: 4+ years
- Prevailing wage: 4+ years
