About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years recent experience required License: Active RN license in the state or compact license Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Level I Trauma experience required - Travel experience required - Large hospital experience required Description: Registered Nurse needed for a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years recent experience in the specialty. The patient ratio is 1:12, utilizing a team nursing model. This equates to approximately 1:6 or 1:7 due to team splitting among staff. Candidates with less than 5 years of experience in the specialty will not be considered. On-call work may be required as needed. Weekend shifts will also be required as needed. Block scheduling is not available; however, weekend block scheduling may be considered. Local candidates will not be accepted due to a strict 100-mile radius rule. All candidates must be compliant with licensing guidelines. Requests for time off must be included in the application submission. The facility does not permit late submissions for time-off requests. Candidates must be prepared to work during major holidays if assigned at that time. Travelers must have experience floating between similar units and campuses. Interdisciplinary support includes multiple services such as physical therapy and pharmacy. This unit specializes in surgical oncology patients with medical-surgical overflow. The typical daily census ranges from 30 to 35 patients. Additional unit details include the management of patients with central lines and chemotherapy administration for qualified nurses. Candidates must meet all the listed requirements for consideration.
