Come grow with us!We are seeking a Material Handler to join our team in Hickory, NC!Job Summary:The Material Handler will work under the direction of the Operations Mgr. The Material Handler will be responsible for assisting in the organization and monitoring of inventory, both physical inventory on the shop floor and associated inventory systems.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Production Support:Prepares work by gathering necessary materials and reviewing work ordersPull, verify, and stage materials for production work ordersReview assembly carts daily; restock materials and update inventory systems as neededPrint labels and support production requirementsMaterial Flow Management:Move materials through all stages of production (receiving ? WIP ? finished goods)Ensure accurate system transactions for all material movementsPerforms part inspection according to approved SOPsUses counting scales for bulk receiving, re-labeling, and re-boxingShipping Support:Pick and stage materials for shipping based on pick listsInventory Control:Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventoriesIdentify and report inventory discrepanciesMaintain accurate inventory through proper transactions and handlingConsumables Management:Monitor consumable inventory levels weeklySubmit replenishment requests as neededGeneral Duties:Operate material handling equipment safelyMaintain organization and cleanliness in all areasSupport additional operational needs as requiredExperiences/Skills Required:Must have the ability to work in a team atmosphere to obtain common goals and objectivesDemonstrates effective listening skillsAbility to read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to meet deadlines, concentrate, and pay close attention to detailAdaptability and willingness to perform all given dutiesStrong safety orientation; perform all tasks in a safe and responsible mannerBasic understanding of conventional measuring tools and techniquesMust be able to multi-taskExcellent hand-eye coordinationForklift experience preferredRequirements:High school diploma or GED equivalentManufacturing experience preferredPhysical Requirements:Production environment: dust and grease are common. Significant risks from equipment and the environment require constant care and vigilanceMust be able to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 50+ lbsRegularly required to use hands and hand tools to handle materials and reach with hands and armsThis role works Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm. Pay Range: $18-21/hr. This is a temp-to-hire role and will require 520 hours of contract work through our associated agency.
