About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to provide internal legal support and manage regulatory compliance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the company's legal interests are in line with evolving federal and state policies, particularly those of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. This role involves representing the company in various legal proceedings, serving as the primary legal liaison with regulatory bodies, and overseeing the preparation of legal filings. The Associate General Counsel will also be tasked with supervising and mentoring a team of legal professionals, as well as leading cross-functional legal and regulatory initiatives. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and a minimum of 10 years' leadership experience in a managerial or supervisory role. A strong background in regulatory and compliance matters, particularly in the energy sector, is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience with the company's agreements and tariffs, as well as a deep understanding of its operations, markets, and planning functions. An MBA degree is preferred. The role requires a high level of judgment, managerial discretion, and the ability to operate within budget while maintaining cost controls. The Associate General Counsel will also be responsible for promoting an environment that is sensitive to ethical concerns and ensuring compliance with the company's core values and code of conduct.
