Position: Freight Forwarding Operations Specialist (Bilingual Mandarin Required)

Key Responsibilities

Freight Forwarding Operations (Core Focus)

• Manage and execute international shipments across air freight and ocean freight (FCL/LCL), ensuring timely movement, operational accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate shipment schedules, booking arrangements, and transportation activities to support efficient supply chain operations.

Regulatory Compliance

• Serve as the primary point of contact with Customs Brokers to resolve entry discrepancies, including customs exams, shipment holds, and documentation issues.
• Ensure compliance with CBP, TSA, FMC, and international trade regulations.

Documentation Management

• Review, audit, and process freight forwarding documentation, including:
• • Commercial Invoices
  • Packing Lists
  • Certificates of Origin
  • MAWB / HAWB
  • Bills of Lading
  • ISF / AMS filings
  • Shipping records and customs documentation

End-to-End Shipment Coordination

• Oversee the complete shipment lifecycle across air, ocean, rail, LTL, and OTR transportation modes.
• Provide proactive tracking updates and shipment visibility to internal teams, customers, and partners.

Vendor & Carrier Management

• Coordinate with carriers, CFS providers, drayage companies, and trucking partners to optimize transportation solutions.
• Monitor capacity, negotiate pricing, and minimize demurrage, detention, and storage costs.

eCommerce & Fulfillment Operations

• Collaborate with warehouse and fulfillment teams to support B2B and B2C shipping operations.
• Assist with order processing, fulfillment activities, and last-mile delivery coordination.

Process Improvement & Optimization

• Develop and improve SOPs across freight forwarding and fulfillment functions.
• Track KPIs to improve transit times, operational efficiency, service levels, and cost control.

Global Collaboration

• Work closely with Asia-based teams using Mandarin to coordinate shipments, review documentation, and resolve operational issues.
• Maintain clear communication across international teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in freight forwarding operations required.
• Strong operational knowledge of international air freight and ocean freight (FCL/LCL) is mandatory.
• Experience in 3PL, NVOCC, or freight forwarding environments strongly preferred.
• eCommerce or fulfillment experience is a plus.

Language Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Mandarin (reading, writing, and speaking) required.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of:
• • Incoterms 2020
  • HTS Classification
  • AMS and ISF Filings
  • International shipping regulations and customs procedures

Systems & Software

• Experience using GoFreight software strongly preferred.
• Experience with TMS, WMS, or freight forwarding platforms required.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP functions, preferred.
