Join Our Team as an Addiction Consultation Liaison

Key Responsibilities

Perform thorough psychiatric evaluations for patients in medical-surgical units and the emergency department to assess psychiatric diagnoses, risk factors, and treatment requirements.
Work collaboratively with medical and surgical teams to create integrated treatment plans that address both medical and psychiatric issues.
Deliver evidence-based psychiatric interventions, including medication management, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention as needed.
Provide education to medical and nursing staff on psychiatric matters, including symptom recognition, appropriate interventions, and strategies for managing psychiatric emergencies.
Engage in multidisciplinary rounds and case conferences to discuss complex cases and ensure coordinated care.
Accurately document all clinical interactions in the Epic electronic medical record system.
Uphold confidentiality and comply with ethical and legal standards in psychiatric practice.
Stay informed about advancements in consultation liaison psychiatry through ongoing education and professional development.
Optional participation in evening and weekend shifts is available, offering additional compensation.

Qualifications

Must possess an MD or DO degree and be eligible for a Massachusetts medical license.
Board certification or eligibility is required.
