Job Description Job Title : Material Handler Location : Maple Grove, MN Schedule : 1 st Shift (9/80 Schedule) Pay Range : $20-24/hr Job Description : We are seeking an experienced and dependable Material Handler to support inventory, warehouse, and material movement operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for the accurate receiving, handling, tracking, movement, and physical inventory of materials throughout the facility. The Material Handler will utilize handheld scanners and computer-based inventory systems, operate multiple types of powered industrial equipment, verify shipping documentation, and perform accurate physical inventory counts. Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements. Key Responsibilities Receive, handle, stage, move, and organize materials throughout warehouse and production areas. Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, and other material handling equipment, both manually and using powered equipment. Open containers using appropriate hand tools and safely prepare materials for processing, inspection, storage, or distribution. Count, weigh, and sample incoming and existing materials as required. Perform accurate physical inventory counts through manual counting and/or the use of weighing scales. Utilize handheld scanners quickly and accurately to locate, identify, track, and verify inventory. Enter, track, verify, and record material and inventory information using applicable computer systems. Read, understand, and verify shipping documents and associated material paperwork. Ensure material quantities, locations, and associated system records remain accurate throughout material movements. Operate various types of propane- and electric-powered forklifts safely and efficiently. Operate sit-down forklifts and stand-up/high-reach trucks to retrieve, transport, stage, load, and unload materials. Support inventory control activities by identifying and communicating potential discrepancies between physical inventory and system records. Utilize Microsoft Office applications and other computer systems to support inventory, warehouse, and administrative activities. Maintain organized material storage and staging areas to promote efficient warehouse operations. Follow established procedures for safe material handling, storage, transportation, and equipment operation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Collaborate with warehouse, inventory, manufacturing, and other operational personnel to ensure materials are available where and when needed. Perform additional material handling and warehouse support duties as required to meet operational needs. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of inventory management experience. Previous experience working within a warehouse environment. Hands-on experience operating a sit-down forklift. Hands-on experience operating a stand-up/high-reach truck. Ability to safely operate various types of propane- and electric-powered forklifts. Experience using handheld scanners to accurately locate, identify, and track inventory. Ability to read and understand shipping documents and warehouse paperwork. Experience performing physical inventory counts through manual counting and/or weighing methods. Strong computer and typing skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook, as well as the ability to learn and utilize other related software systems. Ability to accurately enter, track, verify, and record inventory and material information within computer systems. Ability to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 40 pounds. Valid driver's license. Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy. Ability to work safely and efficiently within a fast-paced warehouse and material handling environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting material handling and inventory operations within a manufacturing or production environment. Experience working with computerized inventory management, warehouse management, or material tracking systems. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Experience investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies. Experience supporting cycle counts, physical inventories, shipping, receiving, and material staging activities. Demonstrated ability to operate multiple types of powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
