Director of Enterprise Operations & Strategy The Director of Enterprise Operations & Strategy will partner with broader client operational subject matter experts to support the operational build aspects for HarbourVest’s new investment solutions. The director is directly responsible for identifying, assessing, and standing up key new operational builds related to the company’s new products. This role reports to the Vice President of Enterprise Operations & Strategy in Boston. Hybrid Work Arrangement This position is a hybrid work arrangement with 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office four days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving five additional remote days to be used as needed. Key Responsibilities Partner with Client Operations and collaborate with colleagues across Strategy, Innovation, Execution, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Investor Relations, Private Wealth, Tax, Financial Planning & Analysis, and external providers and advisors to support operational build aspects for new investment solutions. Assist in building and designing the operational framework of specific new products that are novel to the firm and align with its strategy. Strong partnership and collaboration with senior professionals to assess operational build capacity and needs that may impact accounting, treasury, taxation, client onboarding, reporting, performance, and third‑party service providers. Lead all aspects of the client operational launch of a new product from concept to full transition to the “run” team. Conduct initial assessments of key operational processes and technology required for new product implementation. Leverage efficiencies and opportunities from past launches to establish key dependencies and goals for client operational readiness launch targets. Review legal and other product documentation from an operational commercial perspective. Solicit feedback and input from a wide cross‑section of the organization and evaluate different inputs to inform decisions around product terms and related sales and operating models. Coordinate with operational leads to ensure the firm will be prepared to support operational needs. Share experience and insights to influence product strategy and planning to build efficiencies across product strategies. Other responsibilities as required. Qualifications Background in HarbourVest legacy systems and processes. Ability to provide commercially driven insights to advise strategic decision making. Established network of industry relationships and contacts to support business research and standard processes. Cross‑functional expertise in one or more of the five operational functions: Accounting, Client Experience, Performance/Analytics, Transfer Agent, Treasury, Corporate Finance, Compliance (Regulatory and Tax). Experience with separately managed mandates, complex open and closed‑end fund structures, alternatives, private equity, credit investments, real assets, and various performance fee structures. Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts in simple terms by building templates/models and summarizing in writing and in person. Experience 6 to 10 years of experience in private markets or asset‑management. Strong interest in client operations and fund structuring. Participation in product launch and related topics. Demonstrated excellence in implementing multi‑dimensional projects. Strong familiarity with SEC regulatory reporting, US GAAP, LUX GAAP, and other accounting bases. Strong understanding of mechanics and inter‑dependencies of alternative investment funds. Familiarity with different legal structures used for investors to access private market strategies. Education Bachelor of Arts (B.A) Master of Business Administration (MBA) Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $165,000.00 – $180,000.00 (USD). The role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, and may include eligibility for long‑term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that includes retirement, health insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs.
