The Machinist is responsible for performing a variety of machine shop tasks, including operating manual and CNC/NC machine tools to manufacture production and prototype components. This role ensures all customer and company product requirements are met by applying industry-standard machining techniques. The Machinist is also responsible for equipment maintenance, fabrication, quality assurance, and process improvement initiatives. What you will do: Perform manual machining operations, including setup and tool selection on conventional lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and other standard shop equipment. Set up and operate CNC machines, adjusting as needed to ensure precision and quality. Fabricate repair parts for filling and packaging equipment using machining, instrumentation, and hand tools. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and written instructions to duplicate or design equipment parts. Inspect, measure, test, and de-burr manufactured components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications. Maintain documentation of quality checks. Perform or assist in scheduled preventative maintenance activities on machines and shop equipment. Ensure compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, and safety protocols, including proper use of PPE. Participate in Continuous Improvement team meetings, work with Engineering staff or customers to resolve product issues and contribute to process optimization. Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S principles. Perform advanced maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning for recurring mechanical issues. Oversee and implement complex repairs and equipment modifications. Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance and production personnel as needed. Order parts and support equipment as needed. Assist with troubleshooting machine-related issues and work closely with production line mechanics and leads. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve machining processes. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Some duties may vary slightly by location. Education Qualifications: Associate's Degree Technical Degree in Machining, Manufacturing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Preferred) Experience Qualifications: 1-3 years of machining experience, including manual and CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment.
