Accounting Associate of Accounts Receivable Full time Washington, DC, US 6 days ago Requisition ID: 1549 Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually Salary range 60k to 70k - Salary determination is based on experience Trinity, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks an Accounting Associate of Accounts Receivable who will be part of a dynamic team in the Business Office. This position will report directly to the Controller. This is the ideal opportunity for a person who is willing to learn the inner workings of an accounting department. Job Responsibilities Prepare and process journal entries as assigned. Process cash receipts for student and non-student transactions. Respond to internal and external customer inquiries, and support students on all account related inquiries. Research and resolve cash receipt or accounts receivable related inquiries. Process financial aid-related transactions. Assist students in making payment arrangements and payment plans, as needed. Prepare invoices for third party billing. Prepare accounts receivable aging reports. Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts receivable. Assist Controller with year-end audit tasks. Work closely with the Business team to serve as backup for accounts payable or other areas. Performs other duties and ad‑hoc projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of basic accounting procedures. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated skill in multi-level spreadsheet development. High attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Inquisitive nature with a desire to learn and explore new concepts. Ability to work independently to meet goals in a timely and accurate manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. 1-2 years of experience in an accounting office. Higher education experience is a plus. Exceptionally organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good research, analysis, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word). Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains a plus. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work normal weekday business hours and some Saturdays.
