Special Education Teacher

AB Staffing is looking for an experienced Special Education Teacher that is available for the 2024/2025 school year. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in relation to Special Education from an accredited college or university Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Learning Behavior Specialist 1 Endorsement (LBS1) required. Proficiency in the subject area; experience with case management, paperwork, compliance, and IEPs At least one year of teaching experience with students with a variety of disabilities, including students with behavior disorders and other learning and cognitive delays, preferred. Must possess strong communication and organizational skills. Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required. Job Description: Caseload and details of position/classroom type will differ based on school location Recruitment Specialists can discuss in detail upon application to connect you to the classroom and best suits your experience and skillset Contract through the 2024/2025 school year – 35 to 40 hours per week Contract follows the academic district calendar As a Special Education Teacher, you will: Modify and develop daily curriculum techniques specific to students with different learning modalities. Develop approved lesson plans to meet the standards of the curriculum within the classroom and assist in developing lesson plans for inclusion students. Consistently communicate and correspond with parents, administrators, school psychologists, and other professionals to set up and plan IEP and Evaluation meetings. Act as IEP facilitator and collaborator between special ed. and regular education teachers. Gather relative information from team members and write, revise, or update IEP and existing data reports. Complete report cards and progress reports on each student’s progress. Assist other professional staff in identifying and implementing interventions for students identified in the Student Study Team process. Maintain appropriate student data to keep the school-wide grading system up to date as well as data required to monitor IEP goal progress. Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence. $53-$60/hour $1,855 to $2,100/week on 35 hours Why choose AB Staffing?
