Make a lasting impact as a Special Education Teacher, working with dedicated students and staff near Plainfield, IL. This contract position offers you the opportunity to nurture students’ development throughout the entire 2026-2027 school year, delivering meaningful support in an inclusive, encouraging environment.
The daily schedule is thoughtfully structured, running from 8:05 AM to 3:25 PM, and provides a 30-minute duty-free lunch and a planning period each day—giving you the time to recharge and prepare your best lessons. You’ll join a collaborative team passionate about individualized education and advancing student success.
What We’re Seeking:
- Active Illinois Special Education Teaching Certification (LBS1 required)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
- Dedication to inclusive learning and differentiated instruction
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to foster a supportive, empathetic classroom atmosphere
- Reliable, flexible, and committed to the full 2026-2027 term (August 17, 2026, to May 27, 2027; emergency days through June 7 if needed)
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and deliver specialized instruction tailored to diverse learner needs
- Collaborate with general education staff, families, and support personnel
- Create and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
- Advocate for student needs and maintain accurate records
- Participate actively in team meetings, professional development, and parent conferences
